ISSN 0001-5555 Erosive pustular dermatosis (EPD) is a rare condition characterized by pustules, erosions and crusted lesions, which ultimately result in scarring alopecia (1). Cultures are generally negative, and laboratory and histopathological evaluations are not diagnostic. The development of EPD has been observed previously in some specific conditions such as long-standing solar damage (2), and its association with autoimmune diseases has also been described (3). However, the pathogenesis of EPD remains unclear. We report here a case of EPD of the scalp and leg associated with myasthenia gravis.

Erosive pustular dermatosis (chronic atrophic dermatosis of the scalp and extremities)
Erosive pustular dermatosis is a rare noninfectious disease of the scalp or legs. Clinical findings are nonspecific, with crusts, atrophy, and pustules. A later complication of erosive pustular dermatosis is secondary cicatrical alopecia. The list of possible differential diagnoses is long, and includes infectious, inflammatory, and neoplastic dermatoses. Treatment is challenging. Topical drug ...
متن کاملA Case Associating an Erosive Pustular Dermatosis of the Legs and Scalp
Erosive pustular dermatosis (EPD) of the legs and the scalp have been described as two separate entities occurring in a different context. We report the original case of a patient with an EPD of both the scalp and legs.
متن کاملErosive Pustular Dermatosis of the Scalp with Urate-Like Crystals
Follicular urate-like crystals were first described in Necrotizing Infundibular Crystalline Folliculitis (NICF), a rare cutaneous disorder with multiple waxy folliculocentric papules. Similar crystal accumulation may be seen within follicular infundibulae as an incidental finding. We describe a case showing identical crystals occurring within the horn-like crusts of a patient with erosive pustu...

Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular junction disorder caused by pathogenic autoantibodies to some parts of the post-synaptic muscle endplates. About 85% of generalized MG patients have autoantibodies against post-synaptic acetyl-choline receptors (AChR). From the 10-15% of the remaining patients, 45-50% are positive for Muscle Specific Tyrosine Kinase-Antibody (MuSK-Ab). It is believed th...
